Why is repairing scratches priced "on request"
For scratch removal we will analyze your audio recording and quote the required effort, as removing scratches depends on the location in your audio. Repairing scratches between songs or in a location with loud music is simpler than removing scratches in quiet parts of the music. Every scratch needs to be treated independently, therefore more scratches means more effort.
How much Du you charge for your services?
Please refer to our price list for further information.
Will clicks and crackles be removed?
Vinyl records collect dust and dirt over time, which are hard to impossible to completely remove. Some static charges on the surface of the record also contribute. Our algorithms will remove most of these clicks and crackles without affecting the music itself.

Protection of your data
How can I set up the 2-Factor Authentification?
Please read the detailed guide here.
Why is two factor authentication required for login?
Up- and downloading audio files is legally sensitive. We need to make sure that your data is not only secure on our servers, but also that you and only you can access these files and the related patch files to repair your music. This is the reason we need you to authenticate yourself every time you log in.
Relying only on a password does not fulfill this requirement, as passwords can be broken, specially if not a very hard to guess password is chosen. However, chosing a secondary authentication method is not very difficult, and we offer help in setting up through our Contact us channel.
Why do you offer different server locations?
You can choose the server location you prefer for your data. Our main server is in Thailand as we live in Thailand (see About us), but we also operate servers in Germany and Switzerland. We leave it up to you to choose where you want to store your data, and you can then download your repaired music files from this location.
Are my audio files protected when uploaded to your servers?
After the audio files have been uploaded to our servers they remain there until we have restored your audio. You are free to chose a server in Thailand, Switzerland, or Germany / France for your upload. The restored audio data will be stored on the same server for you to download. The download area is reserved for you as a registered user, nobody else can access your files.
Submit Audio
How to submit audio?
After recording you need to prepare the files for upload. If the recording was done with Audacity we recommend to use 7-Zip or a similar program to compress the recorded audio file. However, compressing audio files in wav, flac, or alac format will only lead to small reduction of file size.
You must be registered on the website to be able to submit and register audio.
Please read our Workflow for a step-by-step guide and further information.

Is the restoration process elaborate?
Restoring audio with minimum impact to the recorded audio is both difficult and time-consuming. To do this we use several different tools and procedures applied in several passes over the entire audio material.
- Pass: removal of subsonic disturbances, amplification, reduction of sibilance (optional)
- Pass: reduction, removal in most cases, of clicks and crackles, removal of audible noise floor
- Pass: manual inspection of the result, particularly of the gaps between music titles, as those are the areas in your audio recording most susceptible to clicks, crackles, and noise
- Pass: removal of scratches (optional)
- Pass: separation into tracks and meta tagging
Achieving this with the least possible impact to the recorded audio requires a scientific effort, a few very specialized tools, and patience. We work on your audio between 20 minutes and 1 hour per album depending on the scope of works. Removing scratches come on top of that and can require many hours of restoration work, that is why we will quote our efforts to remove scratches only after we received your raw audio recordings.
Additional Audio Cleaning and Equalizer
Our Audio Restauration process tackles crackles and clicks, scratches, and sibilance only. This guarantees results as close as possible to the original recording. Should you want to add further audio cleaning or even equalizer based modification of your audio we recommend the following procedure:
- Have us restore your recorded but untreated audio with Crackles basic
- Apply additional cleaning or equalizier to the audio restored by Bethico
- Separate your audio into music songs and apply meta tags
This is an advanced process and recommended for expert users only. Please note that if you submit your audio for restoration after having been treated with other tools the Bethico algorithms will not work as intended.
How to process audio after recording
Please do not process your audio with any tools after recording. Our cleaning and restoration tools and algorithms can deliver best quality only when applied to a pure recording. Processing of audio alters the wave form and makes it impossible for our algorithms to work on it properly.
Send us the pure recording and let us take care of restoring your audio.
How are clicks and crackles removed?
We attempt to remove all clicks and crackles from your audio recordings without affecting the Music itself. As simple as this sounds the algorithms we are using to achieve this are highly scientific. We also pay extra attention to set the correct parameters of these algorithms so they work best for each individual audio submitted.
No audio program exists which can do this fully automatically, and there is no single software or algorithm which can achieve best results in every situation. That is why I will check each and every submitted audio file personally and decide the best combination of tools, algorithms, and program parameters to ensure you will receive the best possible result.
